Papaya Girl part 3

Image
Hello! Back to Paya! This time I started working on the jacket. It's pretty much kimono-like, but the red collar goes criss-cross applesauce in the middle. I took a look at other cosplayers to see how they have done it just give me an idea how I should approach it. Reference I hope you see what I mean about the collar.. The fabric itself provided from dad's old winter suit that he gave me for material donor since he didn't have any use for it at all. I'm very thankful for that! The winter suit is basically just large coat and pants, it was somewhat easy to pattern that. I just needed to chip off a few cm's from here and there and that was it actually. :D  The coat, in pieces, yeeted on the floor... testing.. fitting Once I was okay with the fitting I made the details, the red stripes on the sleeves, the "cape" on the back and the collar. The sleeve details I just winged basically. The first version I made was too short (only a little over my shoulder) and ...

Lens review: ICK Cherie Brown

Hello! Another lens review time! This time we're taking a look at ICK Cherie Brown~ :3 I already dropped some "distance" pics of them when I did my Paya makeup test , but that's alright. Let's put our focus on lenses only, shall we?  Lenses in the case I was quite excited to try these lenses on really! The color was actually quite close to what my own eyes are, except a little more green. I have a couple characters I'd love to cosplay that have these "hazel" eyes, so I think these lenses would be just perfection! :D One lens in Both lenses in, facing window Flash Yellow bathroom light Outside, sun in clouds Back against Sun In the shadow Just as I thought, the lenses blend very well with my own eye color, the green stands out a little, but definitely not enough to turn your eye color green though lol. I really like these ones! Also I would like to add that even though these lenses were expired (more info below), they were actually very comfortable! I...

Old cosplays I'm going to remake!

Image
Hiii~! Realizing that before Linkle happened, the "newest" cosplay I've made was Fiona Belli from Haunting Ground! It was long ago since I made it and most of my older cosplays are now fabric/material donors. There are definitely still some I want to remake and cosplay in the future as well (and get better/up to date pics)! Here are the ones that came to mind.. Sheena Fujibayashi - Tales of Symphonia Now my wife Sheena here is still one of my favorite female video game characters of all time. She really left a mark on me and I want to cosplay her again, though this time it'll be improved! I want the whole cosplay look more crisp and accurate, the colors of choice were way off and the blue wig I used isn't doing it for me anymore. And also I'm going to have Corrine on my side! I've always wanted to learn how to make plushies. ^^ Also proper boot covers that actually hold together! Though I must add that there are other versions in the game I'm intereste...

Papaya Girl part 2

Image
Hello! UwU Made some more progress on Paya. Now that I have wig and accessories I started working on the under-shirt and skirt plus a makeup test, haven't done those properly in a while! There is also another lens review coming so stay tuned! ^^ These are the clothing I'm referring. For both shirt and skirt I combined materials from two of my old cosplays, since I have no use for them anymore for one reason or another.. Drum roll please....! Alice Liddell - Alice Madness Returns Photographer: Shiro Samurai Now this one was a rushed project, literally used this only for one photoshoot and kinda forgot about it. (probably for a reason, it looks horrible sos) Now all it was good for was fabric donor lol. Glad I kept it!  SenHime - Hakuouki: Sweet School life Photographer: Shiro Samurai I was actually kind of happy how this one looked on me. I really wanted to keep it around and maybe wear it again after some fixes, but when I tried it on, it was way to tight on the chest area. Now...

Papaya girl part 1

Hiii~! I'm bringing Paya back! I tried to figure out her outfit one or two Summers ago, but threw the idea out. Though to my credit I wasn't too far off now that you can find proper concept art of her. I'm so happy to get to her again~. <3 She's so cute and sweet girl and I'm having a good time playing Breath of The Wild, so a cosplay project from that game shouldn't come as a surprise. ^^ I started from the wig, cuz that's always fun. I have this white wig with quite short cut bangs, so I started cutting and styling it. That was the easy part though, the side parts and the bun were really something. Now the sides I had to redo like once so they cooperated with me pretty well. Pretty nice, starting off quite strong. The bun part was horrible to work with. The end result was always either too messy, the placement wasn't right or the bun wouldn't hold together at all! I had to work with that sucker like 5 times and even now I'm a little paranoid...
