Hope I remember to drop more of these in the future. Photographer was Shiro Samurai , thank you so much ^_^ First have a pic of the vials. I was quite intrigued to see how the yellow/orange-y rim blends into my own eye color.  Sure my own eyes are a bit darker, but the contrast isn't really that strong... Let's get to the exciting part, the difference when you put lenses on. Ooooh! One lens in. Bathroom light. Facing window. Natural light in apartment. Flash photo. White light. Yellow light. Indoors storage room. Natural light. Outside, facing sun while being in the shadow. Outside, back against sun. Outside, facing sun. Cloudy. Outside, facing sun. Sunny. Important!! Cucco farmer part 4!

Image
Cucco! In this post I'm just updating what has been up with Linkle. I haven't talked about it anywhere except in my IG. And even there not that much really. Sooo here's what I've been working on, let's go! First off the boots. I was super scared to work on boot covers. I think I've made shoe covers once, and they didn't look good or even hold, so I guess that's where the intimidation mainly came from. Then again that was my early stage of cosplaying, my skill level has increased and it certainly was time to overcome my failures! With planning and researching different ways of making boot covers, I think I got an idea what to do. I got this stretchy faux leather for cheap thanks Kangaskukkula . Sure it was a little darker than I planned originally, but I really don't feel like ordering fabrics online. Only option is just roll with it and work on what fabric stores around me has. I don't mind sacrificing accuracy that much. ^^ I dr...

Lady in red dress

Image
Hello cosplayers! The Holidays are over and it's time to start working again. I have another internship to go through, let's hope I do well. During my vacation I fucked up my sleeping schedule and just couldn't sleep at all until morning. Since I couldn't get any sleep I decided to work on something to keep my mind occupied, not today anxiety and paranoia! Since I was going to work on Ada Wong from RE4 I decided to actually get started and styled the wig. I had this Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach) wig lying around without any purpose, I decided to cut and style her.  Here's the wig, I don't think this has been cut or styled at all.  Once I set everything I started to search for reference pics from RE4's Ada and take consideration other games versions of her too. Her hairstyle doesn't change too much except for length differences.   Our lovely lady in red dress... ...and this was my setup. A makeshift wig stand. I used my beanie and fi...

Cosplay plans for 2020(?)

Image
henlo and merry chrism and happy new yar I have been silent here for a while, so I wanted to write some updates. So let's go! First Volta. I underestimated the amount of black fabrics I have for her, so I had to put her on hold until I find some from either second hand or fabric sales. Wish me luck! I was so sure I've collected enough black fabrics over time, but I was very wrong. Hopefully I get to work on her soon. She's my precious baby <3 Also all Arcana cosplayers rise up and let's have a photoshoot together! Linkle, I haven't done anything more to her since the last post. I really want her to be done for summer! It would be amazing to have photoshoots with her damn it! I have a few things that have to be done, and shoes are definitely one of them. I'm going through second hand stores to find either boots I can modify or a pair of shoes I can build the boot covers on. While her shoes in game are flat, I wouldn't mind them having a bit of h...

"Are you going to be some kind of a nun?" Volta cosplay

Image
Hey everyone! Just today when I back home from school I started working on Volta from The Arcana Game ! I showed a picture of her to my mother and she asked if I was going to dress up as a nun, I thought it was kind of funny, but totally understand why. :'D I love that smol bean and yeah I know that she with the rest of the courtiers are villains, but Volta is so adorable in a creepy way. I was hoping to get this cosplay done for Halloween. I would love to photoshoot her! :3 But we'll see. Best bean <3 So I started from the headgear, that I thought was like a nun's cornette. Probably not the most traditional thing, but close enough? Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, that's where I started. No progress pics, but at least the end result, sorry about that! Myssykkä A scarf thingy you just tie to the back. Quite simple, there will be a second part that comes under this. I also couldn't resist a makeup test so I grabbed one of my orang...

Updates and future plans

Image
Hey guys! I haven't written here for a while again, so I'm just going to give an update about what has been going on and such. I am going to ramble a lot, just letting you know :'D So first I'll start from Retsuko. I'm sad to say I don't have many WIP pictures. Just a couple of the tail. But the vest and the skirt.. nothing. Though I do feel like it's better that way cuz I'm not really that pleased. I wish I had chosen a different kind of fabric, but that's what you do when you are on a budget, right? You just work with what you have.  The tail: After measuring and making patterns, I transfered them to the fur fabric. I hand sewed the pieces and all together. Added an elastic band on the other side so I can put a belt through it. I'm probably going to take some stuffing out and add a wire so I can bend it the way I want it to go. Otherwise, I'm happy how it turned out. :) I had Aggretsuko photoshoot with my bf...

Getting started on Retsuko! Making furry ears

Image
Greetings! Not much progress on Linkle sadly, been sick for a while so I'm kinda lacking energy to do much. Only thing I got done regarding cosplay is Retsuko's ears. I'm not making a full on fursuit, just ears and tail, heh. I've done one pair of ears in the past, but I feel like they're not up to my standards anymore. I had to do a bit of research from other cosplayers and especially furries! I mainly used this tutorial I found on YouTube. That said, here's my take on the ears!  I started by sketching different kinds of patterns for ears until I found one that worked for me -> I cut the pattern out and tested on my head, perfecting the fit and possibly modify to my liking. When satisfied with the pattern, I copied and cut it on EVA foam, then copied the pattern once more on a fabric that comes to the inside of the ear. You can of course paint the foam too, but I lack paints so I prefer using fabric, lol.  After that I glued an iron w...
